about

This song is about the slow death of a language in South America called Zogue. It was reported in the international press that only two people (brothers) could speak the language and that they had a disagreement between themselves which meant they were no longer on speaking terms.

So I conjured up a story of a mediator who was helicoptered in to primarily record the language before it was lost and secondly rectify the situation between the two brothers.

lyrics

Out in the borderlands
Out in the wilds you called me in
A mediator recording
Files full of documents to be archived daily
Capturing all the words you say

And so the meeting starts and the words that follow are lost from now to time and ether
The minutes they will read as follows; these words are lost to time and ether
Your words
Your dialect

Sat between fashioned walls on neutral ground
Nava stay optimistic that the two will show
Both are estranged
They speak words we learn and then repeat

The meeting starts and the words that follow are lost from now to time and ether
The minutes they will read as follows; these words are lost to time and ether
Your words
Your dialect explodes in dust
And when you read these words you glean something
It's something
